HERBAL GARDEN AT emrs mangala

      The Herbal Garden at EKLAVYA MODEL RESIDENTIAL SCHOOL, MANGALA has been developed as a living learning space to promote environmental awareness, biodiversity conservation,and traditional knowledge among students. The garden contains a variety of medicinal,fruit,ornamental and native plants that help students understand the importance of nature and sustainable living.

     The garden includes medicinal plants such as Malabar Nut(Adhatoda), Gurmar, Insulin plant, Heena, Amla, Miracle leaf ,Devil'Backbone,and Stone apple,along with trees like Banyan, Neem, Mango, Coconut, Guava, Tropical Almond and Custard Apple. Ornamental and flowering plants such as Rose,Hibiscus,Spanish Jasmine,Indian Chrysanthemum further enhance the beauty of garden.

     Students actively participate in plantation drives, watering, weeding, labelling plants with their scientific, English and Kannada names,and maintaining cleanliness  under the guidance of teachers.These activities develop responsibility, teamwork, and respect for the environment.

     The initiative not only strengthens environmental education but also helps preserve indigenous knowledge related to herbal medicine. The garden serves as a peaceful learning space that promotes healthy living,biodiversity conservation,and deeper connection with nature.
